Description
For more than fifteen years, Kevin Hendrik visited the same barrio in the suburbs of Madrid, staying anywhere from a few days to several weeks each time. During these short visits, he photographed the neighbourhood’s streets, architecture, people, and atmosphere — building a sustained visual record of one small corner of the city.
The photographs reveal quiet moments, chance encounters, and subtle changes that time brings to a community. While rooted in a single place, the work also reflects the universal rhythms of urban life.
The Barrio is both a work of street photography and a long-term portrait of a neighbourhood — one that unfolds slowly, image by image, over a decade and a half.
