It’s 1976 and Jenny is just 14 when she meets the charismatic Mr Smithson. Little does she realise the devastating impact their affair will have beyond the classroom, not only in her own life but in the lives of the people she loves most in the world. At college, she meets three other women Laura, Marianne, and Sally. Each has their own story to tell; and as long hidden secrets are shared they collectively realise that Mr Smithson is not who he says he is. His malign effect on their lives serves as a counterpoint to the success of their ensemble. So, when mysterious roses are delivered on performance nights they realise he is still haunting the present and their future. Each of them, a gifted musician in her own right, must face the consequences of past actions before they can allow their demons to rest. All this while battling social and police indifference. Knowing they will never be free unless they face the past together, this formidable quartet decide to seek their own form of justice.
