Between 1995 and 2003, 4 children’s magazines were designed and published for young Muslim readers, called ‘al-Huroof’. After a long break, the magazines have expanded into a range of short book series. The books are written in a humorous, colourful yet creative style, with careful attention for accurate religious and cultural representation. Although the main focus is on reading material for Key Stage 1 – 3 readers, there are a number of growing titles for teenagers. Titles are mainly available in English, with several having been translated into Arabic, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Spanish and Urdu.
