Kelvin Whelan is an author and bookseller based in Guernsey, with a real passion for local history and sharing exciting stories from Guernsey's past, whether through non-fiction or fiction.When he is not writing, you can find him behind the counter at Writer's Block bookshop, which he founded in 2023 as Guernsey's only dedicated independent bookshop. He is an active member of the Guernsey Society of Authors and adjudicates for the literary section of the Guernsey Eisteddfod.He has published two non-fiction books under his own imprint, Block Print Publishing, 'Guernsey: A History' and 'Guernsey: A Short History'. He has also published an historical true crime book, Last Man Hanging, with Blue Ormer.His debut novel, 'A Trace of Corruption', was released in May 2026. The first book of the Louis de Vic series, it is a crime thriller set in Tudor Guernsey.
