BR Dexter is a doctor-turned-author whose debut novel, “Footsteps of Heroes” is a coming-of-age mystery set during South Africa’s democratic transition. It takes place at the prestigious Prince of Wessex school and follows Alexander ‘Davey’ Davidson as he and his dorm mates investigate the disappearance of ‘Vanishing Vic’ – a sporting and academic prodigy who went missing in 1947.

BR Dexter grew up in South Africa and has worked in medicine both in South Africa and the UK. In 2025 he decide to take a break from clinical medicine to pursue his other passion: Writing. Find out more at www.brdexter.com.
