Description
Shortly before the banking crash of 2008, Peter Porter, a mild-mannered London draughtsman, believes he has been robbed of his life’s savings by a caller claiming to represent his bank.
With his secure life pulled from under him, Peter – driven by paranoia, pride, an errant spider, and a belief that the whole banking system is corrupt – decides to take the law into his own hands.
When he is finally able to share his secret with boss Toby, possible son-in-law David, and ex-wife Penny – all experiencing upheaval in their lives – a plan is hatched to kidnap the man he suspects responsible, to publicly shame both felon and a system he believes encourages such crimes.
Little does he anticipate the fire his small spark of rebellion will ignite, and how being penniless, makes him Penny-rich.
