Description
Philip Rainbow descends from a long line of North Bucks families, stretching back to at least the 17th century. When his father and mother came together, he was from Wolverton and she from Stony Stratford, and the two families were prominent in both communities.
Philip has delved deeply into his roots and has developed this account of his families’ passage through time. He also includes a chapter on his father’s experiences during World War II. Frank Rainbow was called up in 1939 and spent the entire 6 years of war fighting the enemy. He returned to civilian life in 1946 with the rank of Captain.
Beyond the immediate family interest this book should have wider appeal to those interested in the history of North Bucks in that much of it was made by ordinary families.
