Description
The Saxon Nation is alive and well within 4 European states: the Federal Republic of Germany; the Kingdom of Denmark; the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the United Kingdom of Great Britain. In 1995, the European Parliament recognized ‘Lower Saxon’ with its 10 million speakers, as a European minority language and culture.
This book discusses the faith and beliefs of our Saxon ancestors and investigates elements of the old traditions still to be found in current festivals, habits and name places throughout Europe and Scandinavia.
It is a mosaic indeed of scholarly documentation and archaeological finds, intertwined with personal observations and visits to Saxon sites across the continent and the British Isles.
