Description
Many of the key events in the biblical narrative are pictured by different foods. From the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden all the way to the tree of life in the final chapter of scripture, foodstuffs carry deep significance. Items come in pairs, ranging from the thorns and thistles of the curse in Eden which blight food production, through to the milk and honey which picture the lavish blessings of the Promised Land. We learn important theological lessons from considering these foods. Christians will be most familiar with the bread and wine taken at the Lord’ Supper
