The Last Herd is the story of the last working herd of Shire Horses in London. In 1893 the capital had around 40,000 shires with over 6,000 employed in the brewery trade alone. At the start of 2016 the Royal Parks’ herd was down to six but this has now risen to eight. In a series of exquisite images, this book, by multi award winning photographer Paul Stewart, shows aspects of a year in their working life, and that of the people who work with them. The book features the images from The Last Herd Exhibition plus many more. The book features a foreword by H.R.H. The Prince of Wales
