What Lives on a Farm? Extended Edition introduces children to animals found in a farm environment while supporting visual attention, recognition, vocabulary, and concept development. Reduced visual complexity helps the animal remain the focus, while meaningful photographs connect each image to something children may encounter in the real world.

The Extended Edition adds comparative thinking pages that invite children to look more closely. Children can notice similarities and differences, compare visual features, identify animals, and think about how they are alike or different. These pages provide opportunities to build visual discrimination and early reasoning skills while allowing adults to adapt the experience to each child’s individual visual abilities.

Created by Little Dandelion Press with the needs of children with Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) in mind, this book may also be useful for children with low vision, developmental disabilities, sensory differences, and other learning needs.

Use it for shared reading, early learning, visual recognition, vocabulary development, classroom instruction, therapy, or simply exploring the animals that live on a farm.

Accessible does not have to mean less to think about. The Extended Edition gives children opportunities to look, notice, compare, and learn.
