Description
Aramprunya stands on a hill south of Barcelona, and by 1911 little of it stood at all. Francisco de Bofarull y Sans, head of the Archive of the Crown of Aragon, rebuilt its history the only way it could be rebuilt: from the parchments. Homage sworn by Aymerich de Cunit to Jaime March, the barony’s boundaries, the walls raised in 1375, the tombs of the March family — each fact carries its document. The volume is illustrated with some thirty plates of the castle, of nearby Castelldefels, of funerary urns and coats of arms. Archival history of the old school, patient and exact, on a corner of Catalonia that would otherwise have vanished without record.
