The dolls’ house is one of the treasures of the Burford Tolsey Museum. Visitors are drawn from across the world to Burford; many of them are enchanted by the beautiful dolls’ house and its contents.

Lives in Miniature provides a fictionalised story of the inhabitants of the Burford dolls’ house. Set in the late eighteenth century, the narrative personifies the tiny figures found within the Great House – modelled on an actual house in Burford. The story takes us through the house, room by room, introducing each of the characters and giving them the opportunity to tell their stories.

The book features colour photographs of every room in the doll’s house and of each of the twelve characters as well as some of the contents of the house.
