Maisie lives by the sea – and she can hear what other people are thinking. Sometimes it’s not very nice, but when she hears someone calling for help, and discovers an unconscious man, it’s useful. In his suitcase she finds sketches of a family who look just like the new arrivals at Mum and Dad’s guesthouse. She would love to solve that mystery, but she’s mostly looking out for her best friend, Corey. He’s 9, and so deaf he can only hear if the implants on his head haven’t been ripped off by bullies.
