In a world where everyone has a gift, the King of Myria rules with death and destruction.

Keith and Camille Atwood have seen their fair share of cruelty living in the Gulf, one of the poorest sectors in Myria. Every year, on Combatant Day, they are forced to observe gruesome fights to the death between criminals and the King’s loyal champions.

But when their father attempts to assassinate the King, the pair of siblings are thrown into the Crowning Games, a series of spectacles designed to kill off the participants for the crowd’s entertainment until there’s one winner. Keith and Camille’s arrival garner the attention of both fellow competitors and inhabitants of the castle, including Princess Amaia.

Now, they must decide if they want to play along or fight for what they believe in, even if it means their deaths. They must ask themselves the same questions.
